Brooklyn's Most Stylish Restaurants

September 20, 2015

From warm and rustic to stark and minimalist, these design-centric restaurants prove that Brooklyn really is the most stylish borough.

“I was inspired by classic Victorian pubs in the U.K., particularly the Cafe Royal in Edinburgh,” says owner Jamie Schmitz. He worked with design firm De-Spec and had everything custom built by local artisans, though it was very much a family affair. His mother contributed the vintage floral wallpaper; his father brought the antique wood-burning stove; and the painting of the Highland boy by Thomas Austen Brown depicts his great-uncle Thomas Macrae.
